 UTP Cable Termination

In some cases it may be necessary for you to terminate UTP cables. For an example maybe your cable may be too long. If so use the following procedures:

 1)      Arrange The Wire
                i.  Hold the wires to flatten the wires and put them in order. The color codes must match the jack          that will be used.

ii. Make sure you follow the right order as below

2) Cut Wires
        i. Cut the wire straight across so that only 1/2 inch should be exposed. They need to be parallel.

 3)      Insert Wires Into Plug
i.                     Insert the wires in the plug carefully.
ii.                   Make sure that all wires are fully inserted.
iii.                  Once again check the color codes before crimping.

 4)      Crimp The Plug
i.         Once again check the color coded and make sure that the wire fully inserted into the plug for the last time.
ii.       Once you are satisfied with the wires, insert the plug into the crimping tool and crimp the cable to the plug.

5) Plug Ready To Test
                i. Test the cable using wiremapper.
